How to join

It takes just a few minutes to open up a Top Up & Talk account, and you can talk for LESS today - from your mobile, home phone, pay phone, office or even abroad.

All you need to register is a UK registered credit or debit card and UK address. Call 0845 215 1639 between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm on Saturday.

Making phone calls

The service is simple to use - make a note of your account number and PIN code and then dial the relevant access code from any touch tone phone to talk.

I'm in a shared house - how does it work?

Top Up & Talk keeps your calls separate from other users, and means there are no nasty phone bills to share at the end of each month. You can also use Top Up & Talk from your personal mobile phone. Because you have your own personal account number, only you can make calls from your account.

Can I use this service offshore?

If you're based offshore, we know how important it is to keep in touch with family and friends. The Top Up & Talk service can be used from many offshore locations, depending on the type of telecoms service available to you. If you have talk time available through calling cards, Top Up & Talk can extend the time you have available to call.

What about from payphones?

The service works as normal from payphones - and can save you spare cash when you're out and about. A 15p per minute additional charge applies on calls - imposed by the payphone operator.

How can I top up my account

There are three simple ways to make top ups -

Auto-top up:

Each time your call credit falls to £5.00, we can automatically request your chosen top up amount from a registered debit or credit card.

24-7 top up:

Register your debit or credit card, then dial ** from your account. Follow the prompts to make a top up of any amount to your account - available day or night.

Through customer service:

A representative can make a top up for you from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 5pm on Saturday. The minimum amount via customer service is £20.00 (excluding VAT).

I want to top up by £20 - why do I have to pay VAT on top?

VAT applies to nearly all services and goods in the UK . We charge for calls, like all telecom providers, excluding VAT. That's because we apply the VAT to your top up payment instead - just the same as paying a bill.

What call information can I hear on my phone?

You can listen to balance announcements, and last call costs by using star services from your account: for information on how to enable and disable these announcements >> click here

If you want to see a list of the calls you have made, you can request a one-off statement from customer services.

First:telecom customers can get the same low rates from mobile phones.

Step 1: Dial 020 7965 7965 from your mobile

Step 2: Key in the international number you wish to call
(don't press the 'call' key)

Make the most of inclusive mobile minutes

Make the most of any inclusive free minutes for calls to other mobile networks too.

The 020 access number will be included in any free minutes, or charged at standard UK rates by your mobile operator.
